Google Expands AI Mode Testing with New Features Including Product/Place Cards and History tab
Google is making its new AI Mode in Search available to more people in the U.S., along with some helpful updates. These changes are designed to make searching easier and more useful for everyone.
What’s New in AI Mode?
Google has added a few smart features to improve how you search
Product and Place Cards:
Now, when you search for things like “mid-century modern furniture,” Google can show you local vintage stores with useful details such as how busy the store is, reviews, ratings, and opening hours — all right in the search results.
History Panel:
A new feature allows users to revisit previous queries effortlessly. This panel provides a convenient way to pick up where they left off, enhancing the continuity of the search experience.
Broader Accessibility
AI Mode was once only available to a select group, but now more people in the U.S. can try it. A small group of U.S. users will start seeing the AI Mode tab in Search, and the waitlist is gone. Now, anyone in the U.S. aged 18 or older can join.
Powered by Gemini 2.0
AI Mode uses a special version of Google’s Gemini 2.0 model. This makes it better at handling complex questions and providing clear, well-researched answers. It uses real-time web data, Google’s Knowledge Graph, and shopping insights to give you the most accurate results.
User Experience and Future Developments
The AI Mode interface is designed to be intuitive, with a dedicated tab placed before other search categories like “All,” “Images,” and “Videos.” Users can interact with AI Mode through text, voice, or images, receiving comprehensive responses that include relevant web links for further exploration.
Google plans to keep improving AI Mode by listening to user feedback. In the future, it may include better-looking results, more pictures, and new ways to explore information online.
This expansion of AI Mode highlights Google’s dedication to improving the search experience. With advanced technology, they’re making it faster and easier for users to find the information they need.
