Google Stops Displaying Events Carousel on Desktop Search – Is It a Bug?

It seems Google is no longer displaying the “events carousel” (otherwise called event-rich results) on desktop search snippets. Those scrollable boxes typically appear when you search for events such as “events near me.”

Here is a screenshot of how it looks on mobile:

Interestingly, the carousel is continuing to appear on mobile. But regardless of browser used on desktop, the event-filled results are not appearing to be there.

Vijay Chauhan observed this problem on Saturday, April 19, and tweeted about it on X (formerly Twitter). He wondered if this was a bug, as Google has not made a formal announcement regarding eliminating this feature.

Currently, it appears that this might be a technical issue. Hopefully, Google will resolve it soon or post an update detailing what is happening.
