Google is Testing a New Sub-Menu Under the Search Bar
The Google search giant is experimenting on a feature that might revolutionize the way we utilize search results. The company is testing a sub or secondary menu that shows up just below the primary search filters such as All, Images, News, and others.
This new sub-menu is designed to provide users with more targeted choices when searching—and it’s a bit different in appearance from what we’ve previously seen.
What’s New in Google’s Search Menu?
Rather than the traditional bubble-style filter buttons, this new sub-menu is a flat horizontal list below the top-level search categories. It allows you to further narrow down your search results with speedy filters based on what you’re searching for.
But there’s more:
- If you click on a sub-menu item, classic bubble style is back again.
- The active item is highlighted blue, so you can instantly tell what filter is on.
- Each click sends you off on a new search, allowing you to eliminate results in real-time.
