AI Mode Reporting Coming Soon to Google Search Console

Big news from Google! A new feature called AI Mode Reporting will soon be added to Google Search Console.

This update is one of Google’s continuous AI Mode rollouts that began appearing in search results over the past few weeks. It’s not live just yet, but Google has indeed announced that AI Mode data will soon appear in Google Search Console.

What does this mean for you?

You’ll be able to check how your site performs in AI-powered search results in no time. That means:

  • How many clicks you’re getting from AI Mode
  • How many impressions you’re getting
  • And (hopefully) what queries are triggering your site in AI responses

Where will this data appear?

Right now, it looks like AI Mode will be included in the “Web” search type in your performance reports. That means it won’t be a separate tab (yet) – so all the data will be mixed with your regular search traffic.

Important clarification from Google

Google recently refreshed its support pages to clarify how this will function. As per the update:

“In particular, they’re reported on in the Performance report, within the ‘Web’ search type.”

This means that even though AI Mode results come from a separate AI-powered tab, the data will still be lumped into your regular web search traffic in Search Console.

So currently, it is not possible to see the AI Mode traffic in isolation, but this could be done in the future as Google increases AI features.

Why it matters:

With AI results now being more apparent in search, this update provides webmasters and SEO folks with a better ability to measure performance — even if it is not completely isolated yet. It’s progress toward being able to understand the performance of your content in this new AI search environment.
