Google Tests “Ask a Follow-Up” Feature on Search Results
Google is testing a new feature on its search results titled “Ask a follow-up”, which recommends follow-up search queries users may find useful. These follow-up questions are adorned with Gemini stars and are presented directly in the search results platform.
The feature was initially caught by Sachin Patel, who posted screenshots to X (formerly Twitter). As reported by Patel, clicking on one of these follow-up recommendations brings users to a fresh set of search results, essentially refining or broadening the initial search.
The action seems to be part of Google’s continuous efforts to provide better user experience and inspire deeper exploration of subjects using AI suggestions.
